    • South Africa as a field researcher in the wilderness of uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park

    • Oman as nature and trekking guide
  • Studies of "Environmental Engineering" at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan, Germany, with special focus on ecology, water, nature conservation and environmental education
  • Expert for national parks, wilderness areas and other protected areas as graduate of the international postgraduate Master of Science Programme "Management of Protected Areas" at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria, and as manager of international protected area projects for E.C.O. Institute of Ecology
  • Improved specific wilderness knowledge and outdoor skills by participation in wilderness training programs, wilderness trails, a wolf research project, and a long-standing self-study in the wild
