Northern Italy

The natural gems of Northern Italy

Wonderful mountain lakes and large wild rivers in Friuli and flocks of birds in the Po Delta. Experience Tuscany by bike, admire the Cinque Terre by boat, hike the South Tyrolean Dolomites on foot ... Let's explore the unique natural beauties of Northern Italy!

Bella Italia! Italy is famous for its globally significant cultural monuments, its beautiful sandy beaches and its excellent cuisine. But the country on the Mediterranean also offers breathtaking and often unique natural landscapes. The mixture of Alps, sea, rolling hills and plains created a large variety of habitats, especially in northern Italy, which we will explore on our unique ten-day nature journey. As always, it goes to the famous natural classics that you have to see, but also to largely unknown insider tips that are waiting to be discovered by you. We usually spend the night in very nice, sometimes unique quarters, which are often very beautifully located.

We start with crystal clear mountain lakes and the last great wild river in Central Europe, the Tagliamento. Afterwards we observe flocks of birds and flamingos in one of the largest wetlands in Europe, the Po Delta. We cycle through the grandiose cultural landscape of Tuscany, and on foot and by boat we explore the now world-famous Cinque Terre on the Ligurian coast. But we also do the little-known Ligurian high path, which offers us again and again fantastic views of the Mediterranean. We spend the night in a rustic Walser house in a lonely mountain village in a grandiose location near the 4600m high Monte Rosa massif, admire earth pyramids in Trentino, and close our tour with a hike in the impressive South Tyrolean Dolomites. All of this in a small group of max. 8 participants, led by the biologist and protected area expert Bernd Pfleger.
